Little discussion about XML field performance

Hello!
I'm starting a study about SQL SERVER 2005. In my job, we need store
millions of data in a database. In this data, have a XML file that are store
d
in a XML field.
The question is: How will be database performance? We have this doubts
because will be data a lot! The average is 10 millions of data add for month
in same table.
Somebody have a cases of this subject?

Save XML in database, but don't query it as far as possible. That's my
private opinion.
